Programme outcomes

  • The course structure is designed to enable students to think critically and creatively investigate how human beings interact with the environment through the modalities of mind, body and behavior.
  • On completion of this programme the successful student will have knowledge and understanding of
  • The main theoretical approaches to psychology
  • The fundamentals of psychological research design and analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of biological psychology
  • Knowledge and understanding of developmental psychology
  • Knowledge and understanding of cognitive psychology, including the areas of perception, learning, memory, language and thinking.
  • Detailed knowledge and findings of and debates in social psychology.
  • Understanding of the individual differences in psychology.

Program specific outcomes

  • Students of Psychology to grow in sensitivity, sympathy and empathy towards others, learn to work in a team and develop leadership qualities, accept and respect individual differences and work with responsibility and commitment.
  • Develop an understanding about inclusive education and its benefits through the Social Outreach Program.
  • Students are encouraged to conduct short empirical and archival researches so that they develop an understanding about application of statistics and research methodologies.
  • They are trained to present papers in national level seminars and also to get the research papers published in reputed journals.
  • Students gather exhaustive knowledge in different areas pertaining to psychology like self-love and social networking, different modes of psychotherapy through different seminars and workshops hosted by the department.
