SSP

The Directorate of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala, launched the SSP programme. Through tutorials, study materials, supplemental lectures, and interactive sessions, this initiative strives to offer individualised academic help to needed individuals. This curriculum is being successfully carried out at Al Jamia Arts & Science College in the areas of Computer Science, Languages including communicative English, and Bsiness Studies. The programme features internal and external trainers, as well as a coordinator with a college degree. The principal and IQAC coordinator are members of the monitoring committee, which makes suggestions on how to enhance the programme. Internal trainers manage the mentoring sessions on the relevant topics, while external mentors handle the sessions on learning techniques, practical life skills, and computer software.

WWS Programme

The results of the outcome evaluation of the WWS programme from the previous year showed favourable changes in student participants, including higher self-confidence, enhanced communication skills, and better academic performance. Consequently, starting this year, a thorough mentorship programme Aiming to cultivate a scholarly mentality among selected brilliant students across all disciplines.

WWS strives to help students develop as scholars in their particular subjects and provide them with a platform to do so.  A faculty member must be chosen to serve as the college-level coordinator for WWS following a thorough discussion about the programme with members of the college council. The College Council may select these departments since the plan suggests that the student and internal mentor. The Scheme will only involve students enrolled in the first-year degree programme. There should be no more than 30 students selected under the WWS programme, If it is greater than 30, the College Council should develop a plan accordingly.

The Keralan government`s Higher Education Department and General Education Department have launched the Additional Skill Acquisition Program as a skill development effort.

ASAP at AJAS

Hands-on training in the relevant industry. Optional programme giving students the opportunity to learn skills in areas for which they have an aptitude alongside their academic schedule.

Solid communication skills in both English and IT

 

All first-year students have the option to choose the programme. Students with a great aptitude for occupational competence and those who desire to work after graduation are favoured

Two tiers will be used to implement the courses.

Level one is a 300-hour module that includes a 180-hour IT and communication slot and a 120-hour skill-acquisition slot with practical instruction from the industries.
(Sectors: Agriculture, Banking & Finance, IT & ITES, Hospitality, and Health)

 

Level two includes 300–500 hours of practical instruction in a specialty field.
