The Department of Microbiology, in association with IQAC, organized a Poster Presentation Competition on “Human Milk – A Biochemical Marvel” on 10 August 2026 at B36, as part of World Breastfeeding Awareness Week 2026 (August 1–7). The programme was organized for the Department of Microbiology students to enhance their understanding of the biochemical composition and biological significance of human milk.

As part of the competition, students presented posters highlighting the various components of human milk, including immunoglobulins, enzymes, hormones, growth factors, vitamins, and minerals, and explained their important roles in infant growth, development, and protection. The activity provided students with an opportunity to explore the biochemical and nutritional significance of breast milk while developing their scientific presentation, communication, and creative skills.

Overall, the programme successfully promoted awareness about the biochemical importance of human milk and encouraged students to integrate their microbiology and biochemistry knowledge through an engaging academic activity.
