Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or indisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not be in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student will be treated as ragging. Ragging of any form is a non-bailable offence and requires criminal procedure. If any incident of ragging and/ or abetting ragging comes to the notice of the authority, severe action will be taken against such students.

It shall consider the recommendations of the anti-ragging squad and take appropriate decisions, including spelling out suitable punishments to those found guilty. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the student concerned shall be given the liberty to explain. If the explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would take strict action including expulsion.

Mission

  1. Prevention and Awareness:
    Conducting regular awareness programs, workshops, and seminars to educate students, faculty, and staff about the adverse effects of ragging and the legal consequences associated with it.
  2. Support and Counseling:
    Providing counseling and support to victims of ragging, ensuring they have access to necessary assistance and a safe space to voice their concerns.
  3. Strict Enforcement:
    Implementing strict measures and guidelines as per the UGC regulations and the laws of the land to prevent and address ragging incidents effectively.
  4. Creating a Safe Environment:
    Promoting a friendly and supportive campus culture where students are encouraged to interact, collaborate, and build healthy relationships, free from any form of harassment or discrimination.
  5.  Collaboration and Reporting:o Establishing a robust mechanism for reporting and addressing complaints related to ragging, ensuring confidentiality and prompt action in every case.
  6. Training and Capacity Building:
    Training faculty members and student volunteers to identify, prevent, and address instances of ragging, enhancing their capacity to handle such situations sensitively and effectively
